The Average Cost Of Dental Implants in Australia

The average cost of dental implants in Australia typically ranges from $1,999 to $3,999 per implant. This cost includes the implant, abutment, and crown. However, additional procedures like tooth extraction or bone grafting may incur extra charges. Please note, the cost can vary significantly depending on the complexity of the case, the type of implant procedure, and the specific dental professional performing the procedure.

Single Tooth Implant Cost

A single tooth implant is a procedure where a dental implant is used to replace a missing tooth. This involves the placement of a titanium post into the jawbone, which acts as an artificial root for the new tooth. The cost of a single tooth implant in Australia typically starts from $3,999. This cost includes the implant itself, the abutment (which connects the implant to the crown), and the crown (the visible part of the tooth). However, additional costs may apply if tooth extraction or bone grafting is required.

All-On-4 Dental Implants Cost

All-On-4 dental implants are a full set of implants designed to replace your entire upper or lower set of teeth. They are a more permanent and natural-looking solution than dentures. The procedure involves the placement of four titanium dental implants into the jaw, onto which a full dental bridge is attached. The cost of All-On-4 dental implants in Australia can vary significantly, but it typically ranges starts from $19,000 per arch. This cost includes the implants, the fabrication of the bridges, and the placement of the bridges.

Implant-Supported Bridge Cost

An implant-supported bridge is a dental bridge that is supported by implants rather than natural teeth. In most cases, one implant is placed for every missing tooth, and these implants hold the bridge in position. The cost of an implant-supported bridge in Australia can range starts from $15,000, depending on the number of implants required and the complexity of the procedure.

Dentures Vs Dental Implants: Cost

When it comes to tooth replacement options, dentures and dental implants are the most common choices. Dentures are removable false teeth that are relatively inexpensive, with the cost ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. However, they may not provide the same level of comfort and stability as dental implants.

On the other hand, dental implants offer a more permanent and comfortable solution. While the upfront cost of dental implants is higher than dentures, they can be a more cost-effective solution in the long run due to their durability and low maintenance costs.

Root Canal Treatment Vs Dental Implant Costs

Root canal treatment is another alternative to dental implants. This procedure involves treating the infected pulp of a tooth to prevent the need for extraction. The cost of root canal treatment in Australia can range from $2,000 to $3,000. However, this does not include the cost of a crown, which is often needed after the procedure, adding another $2,000 to $3,000 to the total cost.

In comparison, while the initial cost of a dental implant can be similar or slightly higher, it often provides a more durable and long-lasting solution. Furthermore, dental implants do not require any additional maintenance beyond regular brushing and flossing.

Factors that Can Affect the Cost of Dental Implants

Several factors can affect the cost of dental implants. These include:

    • The number of implants: The more implants you need, the higher the cost.
    • The type of implant: Different types of implants, such as All-On-4 or implant-supported bridges, have different costs.
    • Additional procedures: Procedures like tooth extraction or bone grafting can add to the cost.
    • The expertise of the dentist: Specialists may charge more due to their additional training and experience.
    • Geographical location: The cost of dental implants can vary depending on wherein Australia you are located.

Fantastic staff. I am a truly anxious patient, and the receptionist, Frances, who took my first contact call, I felt safe. Dr Reza Sunny was so patient with me, allowing me to do tapping when I was overwhelmed, never losing focus, totally understanding. Incredibly kind. Incredibly good dentist. I had cleaning, filling, and removal of a broken molar. Even though I may still get anxious I feel safe returning when needed.
