Specialist Endodontist in Brisbane

Why Do I Need an Endodontist Treatment?

Endodontic therapy – root canal therapy – is required when your tooth’s pulp becomes inflamed or infected. Inside the tooth, a soft tissue called the pulp contains the nerves and blood vessels. When the pulp becomes damaged, it can cause severe dental pain and infection.

A dentist with a focus on pulp therapy is known as an endodontist. During endodontic treatment, the endodontist will remove the damaged pulp and clean the inside of the natural teeth. They will then fill the infected tooth with a specific material to prevent further infection.

What Indicates a Potential Need for a Root Canal?

Any of the following signs or symptoms could indicate that you require root canal therapy:

    1. Severe toothache that doesn’t go away
    2. Long-lasting sensitivity to hot temperatures and cold after the stimulus has passed
    3. Spontaneous pain in your tooth
    4. Swelling or tenderness in your gums
    5. A small, pimple-like bump on your gums
    6. Darkening of your Tooth
    7. Cracks in your Tooth

If you notice any of the above symptoms, consult your dentist immediately. They can determine whether you require a root canal procedure and, if so, what the most effective course of action is.

What Is the Difference Between Dentists and Endodontists?

There is a big difference between dentists and endodontists. Dentists are generally health professionals who focus on oral health and dental treatment, including checkups, cleanings, and procedures like fillings and dental crowns. On the other hand, endodontists are specialists in treating conditions affecting the tooth pulp (enamel and dentin). Our endodontic services use advanced technology and specialized techniques to bring back your natural smile.

4 Stages Root Canal Treatment

Root canal procedures can save a tooth that has been broken or infected. The process involves removing the damaged or infected tissue from inside the tooth, cleaning and disinfecting the inside, and then filling and sealing the tooth. There are four stages of root canal treatment:

Stage 1

The dentist will take x-rays of the tooth to determine the extent of the damage.

Stage 2

The tooth and its surroundings will be numbed by the dentist. To keep the tooth dry and saliva-free, a rubber dam will be applied around it.

Stage 3

The dentist will make an opening in the tooth and remove the damaged or infected tissue. The tooth’s interior will be disinfected and cleaned.

Stage 4

The dentist will fill and seal the tooth. A crown may be placed on the tooth to protect it from further damage.

Following endodontic therapy, you might feel a little sore for one or two days, but this is typically relieved by over-the-counter pain relief like Panadol. Consult your dentist for any questions or concerns you may have. They can provide you with more information about dental root canal treatment and what you can expect during the procedure.

What Our Treatment Means for You

Our endodontist Brisbane can assist if you have a tooth that is seriously damaged or infected. Root canal treatment is one of the most common procedures we perform. It’s also an effective method to prevent a tooth from falling out due to infection or decay.

We clean the harmed or infected pulp inside your tooth during root canal therapy. After that, the tooth is sealed and filled to prevent further infection. The root canal procedure is typically very successful. Root canal-treated teeth have a 95% success rate and can last a lifetime.

If you’re experiencing tooth pain or sensitivity, please call us. We can determine if root canal treatment is proper for you.

I had the most amazing experience. I was nervous about my dental treatment but when I got here they explained it to me and I was put at ease. The work done was amazing and I won't hesitate to return to this clinic. Dr Zaheer and his team were very professional and caring.

I also found his front desk staff Fatimatu and Frances to be very friendly and caring. I would highly recommend this clinic.

Fantastic staff. I am a truly anxious patient, and the receptionist, Frances, who took my first contact call, I felt safe. Dr Reza Sunny was so patient with me, allowing me to do tapping when I was overwhelmed, never losing focus, totally understanding. Incredibly kind. Incredibly good dentist. I had cleaning, filling, and removal of a broken molar. Even though I may still get anxious I feel safe returning when needed.

This is my first time ever to have a positive comment about a dentist.
I was astonished about the successful outcome of my dental procedure. Thank you Casey and Dr Reza, what a professional and dedicated team. I mentioned to my partner about it, and we went back to the clinic and she made an appointment for herself on the spot. I do not hesitate to recommend to any one the services of Moorooka Dental Care. Thank you all for your friendly attention, starting from the reception all way to the manager. Looking forwards to see you again.

Can't thank the team at Moorooka dental care enough for an amazing friendly experience! I have now seen both Dr Reza Sunny for general cosmetics work including fillings to teeth whitening, clean up/check ups. Very good at explaining and being upfront with procedures process and Dr Zaheer who removed both my bottom wisdoms last week did an absolute fantastic job from start to finish. They even went the extra mile to call up and check up on me a few days later to see how my recovery was going. 10/10 for service and pricing. Thanks

Both are excellent professionals. They took the time to explain the procedures and the subsequent cares. I even got a follow up call from the practice manager, Ahmed, the next day.
